Another beautiful "friends become lovers" story~
She liked first, then he liked back, so he asked if she wanted to be in a relationship.....but then she went to Chile. The pull was too strong, the distance too far, so after a two months, she returned. To be engaged within weeks, and married in a matter of months. When you know, you know, and no reason to take it slow! It was a joy to be part of your wedding day as photographer, but also friend! Thankful for you, K&A!

On a hot, July Saturday, these two became one! Friends for many years, and now married. Here is a handful of my favorites, of literally hundreds, from their beautiful wedding day...
I had the honor and privilege of capturing the banquet this year for HopeNet, a local ministry offering Christian Care, Coaching and Counseling for those in need. The banquet was held at the historic Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview in downtown Wichita. The evening began with a cocktail hour and pie auction. Speakers included local Chief of Police, Gordon Ramsay, and Amy Simpson, as well as HopeNet employees and clients. It was an amazing opportunity to hear of the services offered, the kindness exhibited, and kingdom work being accomplished.
On a rainy Thursday evening, these "friends for a long time" became "friends forever", for sure, and for certain! Some of the dearest, sweetest, children I have known are these three. We have had wonderful times together, and this was another one. We surprised their parents for their 20th wedding anniversary with these photos, a spontaneous last minute adventure.
It was a blustery and chilly spring day, but we braved the elements, and got some lovely images. Jared, Allanah, & Cael---you're my favorites! One of my favorite ways to share images is to create a simple slideshow with some meaningful music. The whole aura of emotions that occur when you see the visual memories from a special event, are highlighted when you see them fading softly into the next one, with sounds of the "Piano Guys" and "Jim Brickman" Last fall, I had the opportunity to capture the images of Christian in celebration of his senior graduation. Our families have been friends for many, many years, and it was a little surreal to be doing a session with my brother's friend!
(I suppose that means I'm getting older!) Christian played football this past season as quarterback. He courageously stepped up to the plate, well, he actually stepped up to the line of scrimmage (being football instead of baseball) when the main quarterback broke his arm before the first game. Christian displayed fortitude and leadership in this role, and it was so fun to watch him play! His positive attitude and servant's heart will continue to bless others as he begins a new season of life. Even though our paths haven't crossed as much in recent years, it was very enjoyable to reconnect during our session on a sunny November afternoon. Here are a few of my favorites! |
